in grade 7/8 or sumthing i had an ingrown toe nail. It killed so much walking hurt, i told my mom and she took me to the doctor, i ended up having surgery not once but twice. but i doubt y ou'll have it twice my problem was my doctor screwed up the first time. the second time i went to a foot doctor specialist. They do not take your whole tow nail off or whatever they only take the side of it off. that sounds bad but the second surgery i couldn't feel anything but the needle to make my foot asleep. i would suggest going to the doctor and getting a referral to a foot specialist who can help you. The surgery is painless i personally thought getting my ear pierced hurt more! the only thing that actually hurt was getting a needle. the after pain once your foot unfreezes doesnt hurt too much you just have to keep it really clean from preventing infection. Its kinda hard to give you an estimate time because my first surgery was in grade 7 in the early spring and i couldnt even go swimming cause i could get an infection but he also messed up the second one i was able to do anything after the first few weeks almost as long as it was wrapped.

im sure you can ask your doctor for a referal and talk to a specialist about the right choice for you. it can be scary i admit i freaked the whole way there but that was also cuse my first surgery i felt the whole thing anywaysssss im sure you wont. but talk to a specialsist im sure they'll help !

hope i helped

you should be fine it's not common to have to have surgery for an ingrown nail. it hurts yes but usually it will grow out and you can even use some ambosol (that numbing stuff for your mouth)

also if you can soak it and pull the skin down away from the corner any and if you can cut a small corner out of the side it will be sore for a while but it will help it grow along your skin instead of into it

I had that recently... all i did was take nail clippers and cut the skin at the edge of my toe until i found the nail,, then i just cut it out. it didnt really hurt tht bad and it felt better when i was done.

I get ingrown toe nails as well and man, they hurt. It is important to cut them properly, not to short and straight across. but to deal with the infection put the nail in warm water with baking soda, and let it soke.

see your doctore or maybe cut the skin until you find the nail. i agree with the beloow[;
