Can someone explain to me what\'s so cool about being 'scene'?

Um... I don't really get it, haha. Like, most of them are all posers... what's so special about it?

honestly, it all depends on the person what they like and think is cool. For me, personally, I find scene a bit unkempt looking and not that cool. It seems to be the current fad at least for younger teens and maybe pre-teens, after a while even most older ex scene kids move on from it and either go into hipster styles or venture into something else. There's nothing special about it just people experimenting more or less, until they find the one that's right for them.

A lot of people want to be 'scene' cause scene kids are HOT.

But Nana's right, most scene kids grow up...If you google 'scene hair' or 'scene kids' I'm sure all the 'scene queens' that you find, have already grown up and moved on.

Like Brookelle Bones, Dani Gore ect.

I find it more of a phase I guess...But again agreeing with Nana, they usually turn into hipsters.

Scene was a bandwaggon every jumped on when they were between the ages of 13-20 a few years ago, however now younger kids are finding the internet & seeing all these scene kids & trying to bring scene back. Its nothing really "cool" scene kids are typicaly known for being very nasty & bitchy lol. :) xoxo

Scenesters are into a certain look, that's pretty much the only thing that makes it a subculture. That look is en vogue right now, so whoever is into it enough to call themselves "scene" is probably just into keeping in time with what's fashionable rather than what I guess real scenesters are about-- which is music and being too poor to afford clean clothes that fit.

So... Short answer being, if you get your self-esteem from being more fashion forward than everybody else and making them feel bad about it, then you're a crappy person with a crappy personality who will be a doofus poseur no matter what subculture you're in. :]

Yeah, it seems like a bunch of like the 12-16 year old girls on here are constantly asking questions on how to achieve the label of 'scene'...

nana_0601 says:

yeah i don't mind it, at first i did , it was like "UGH ANOTHER QUESTION ON HOW TO BE SCENE" or "SCENE MAKEUP" e.e scene must die, but after a while I just realized, most are younger, just trying to fit in and/or to them it just looks cool , regardless of whether the style works for them or not. I'm all for experimenting, i'm actually experimenting with more asian styles atm. US/European styles kinda bore me ._.

lol yeahh, its the same with pretty much every scene kid, they just decide to grow up a bit

I totally agree...although I do like some of the "Scene" clothing and the "Scene" Hair ( I wanted to get it ever since I was 10...still haven't got it, but I'm planning on it when my hair grows out). They have really snobby, bitchy personalitys. My ex-friend Bri got into all of that crap and she totally changed..although I didn't know her "style" was considered "scene".
