I'm planning my Sweet 16 and it's starting to seem like a mini-wedding! Any ideas on how I can make it appeal more to people my age without making it seem too childlike?

OK, guys, I really need your help here! I really need to lose some weight, but I've got no idea how I can. Magazines always say different things, and you can't always trust what you see on TV or the internet. If you guys have any ideas (and proof that it works, please) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out! I've liked this guy for 7 years, and I'm pretty sure he knows. Even if he does, I want to be the one to confirm it. So, I hatched a plan to give him a valentine at a dance on Friday. I hoped to confess my love to him in a poem and have him fall head over heels in love with me. The more I think about it, though, the more nervous and tentative I become. We're friends from church, but we go to the same school. I like a guy from church, and we have a codename 4 him, GUM. Whenever I c her in the halls at school, she says I love gum. And I say, I know, but i like the other kind of GUM. But whenever she's with this one annoying friend she says she can't stand, she says something like the following, Nuh-uh, I love that kind if GUM. He's mine, u can't have him. Ur gonna be an old cat lady. I really don't like it when she does that, but now it's gotten worse. Today she wouldn't talk 2 me, and when I finally got near her, she said she hates me. She's probably jking, but I hate it when she does that.
