Be kind to their kids and always be polite. Have fun with the kids and make them happy.

When I started babysitting at 12, I started by babysitting my neighbors... then their friends then my little brother's soccer team's friends. I tried to act as mature as I could. Listen attentively to what the parents say. Be very polite and try to ineract with their children in front of them so they can see that you work well with children. What I did so that the kids would like me and want me to come back was: I would pack a special bag full of goodies and toys. Then I would tell the children in the beginning that I had a bag of goodies and if they were good, by the time I leave they can pick one thing from the goodie bag! it works sooooo well. they kids love the goodie bag and i did not have any trouble ever!

if you put up fliers put on it 'refrences available'

when you come for an 'interview' have a paper to give them that has refrences. names and numbers of people who will vouch for how good of a person you are and if you've taken care of any of their children and how good you are with any childrien even when not babysitting
