Winter 2017: Get Creative with Your Hijab Wardrobe
There is no better feeling than the feeling of comfortable warmth when you make yourself a cup of hot tea or coffee and get wrapped in warm clothes. The same feeling can stay with you when you go out – walking in cold doesn’t have to imply freezing!
You can enjoy the beauty of winter in the right clothes both inside and outside, and the good news is that there’s no need to rush to the nearest shop to get them. You can easily get creative with what you already have at home.Do Something Different
Every season, we all go through the “I have nothing to wear” phase and well, obviously our closets are full of things to wear but the truth is that we just get bored of wearing the same old clothes. So try doing different things with both your hijabs and outfits. Mix and match outfits like you have never done before and you’ll be able to come up with some awesome new looks for winter.
All we need for this is some time, so plan your outfit at least one day ahead so you have ample time to think it through. Instead of trying to be all matchy matchy, experiment with different colours including not just your outfits, but also your hijabs and underscarves.
For example, have you ever tried wearing a striped under-hijab with a printed hijab? Most of us haven’t because we simply assume that two prints don’t work well together – well, just give them a try and I’m sure you’ll love how amazing they actually look! You can also have a look at Islamic Quotes on Mothers.
The magic of paint
Paints have the power to turn ordinary items into spectacular ones. So why not get some fabric paints and give your old hijabs a completely new look? Fabric paints are not just available for free, but they are also very easy to use.
Even if you feel you’re not the artistic type, you might be surprised with the things you can create with paint. Try doing some winter themed stuff such as painting frosted trees, snowflakes or stars on a black silk hijab, and the boring old hijab will turn into the perfect dream hijab for winter.DIY Hijab Pins
If painting isn’t your thing, then this is surely something you can try and have fun since it’s so simple that even little girls are doing it. Turn ordinary bobby pins and safety pins into works of art for your hijab by simply adding some buttons or pearls.Accessorise
You can find a million online tutorials about DIY accessories that you can make for your hijab but my favourite ones are surely the flower pins. You can make them by using any old piece of cloth or even an old hijab that you were about to discard. Cut the chosen cloth into small stars, trees, etc. and sew them together.
To add some finishing touches, paste a nice button at the centre of the flower and then glue it to a pin. These can act as the cutest hijab brooches and since we are talking about some winter themed accessories, the best idea would be to make some winter flowers such as pansies or violas as they come out in a variety of colours, including the colours of the season (like calming and navy blues and all the pinkish purples).
These creative ideas will surely help you give a new look to your everyday outfits. And they are also a great choice for those who follow modest fashion and try to stay ethical since they are based on the idea of re-using and recycling the things we already have, instead of wasting money on new items.
So this winter, there will be no need of rushing to the mall and buying new hijabs since you will have your own signature hijabs with you. When it gets even chillier outside, you can go further and reinvent your style wearing a few headscarves layered – together with a maxi coat or puffer jacket, you will feel warm, chic and comfortable. So, enjoy the awesome season and stay creative!
