Well, in health class right now (Literally right now lol) we are covering the unit for disease prevention.
The first unit is immunization. And my assignment is:
Three months ago your favorite cousin had a new baby. You babysit whenever she needs you, and she often talks to you about the baby's progress. Recently she has told you that she doubts her doctor's advice that the baby receive regularly scheduled immunizations. A neighbor has told her that it is dangerous. She has asked you what you think.
So my job was to research and tell my opinion in a DECIDE model assignment.
Well while I was researching, I took it a little further.
I looked up some pro-vaccination and anti-vaccination peoples/opinions.
Both of them had me going crazy.
First I'll start with my overall opinion or all I have to say about it.
To vaccinate your child is your own decision.
Alot of anti-vaccination peoples have it in their head that getting a vaccination completely stops the disease or virus. Which is WRONG. Go to a doctor they should NEVER tell you that it will completely prevent it, if they do, consider a new doctor. Getting the vaccination only builds up your immune system. They are quite literally giving you the virus/disease. If you get sick after, yea, that's normal. Why do you think so many people end up with a small case of the flu after they get the vaccination? DUH. No vaccination is garunteed to stop you from getting it, only to help the healing process if you DO happen to get it. We've all had some kind of disease at one point in time and if we were vaccinated, we still had it, we just didn't get the symptoms because our immune system was kicking it out. WE STILL HAD IT. If we weren't who knows, maybe it was a weak strand or you end up with it really bad.
There's my opinion. I could probably go on for a long time because I hate the fact that people are thinking logically about it. So yea I'm kind of not on the fence with anti-vaccination peoples but, like I said, it's your own decision.
Here's an article we were supposed to read:
If you google search pro vaccination alot of diff sites will come up.
What do you guys think?
Are you pro or anti?
