Hi everyone! Fat burning foods seem to be the in-thing at the moment, so I thought I would share my favorite three! For those who don't know, since last February, I've managed to lose 22lbs. Along with getting plenty of exercise, these three foods have really helped me slim down, stay full and give me the energy I need for my workouts and day job. In no particular order, here they are - enjoy!
Chicken Breast: I know what you're thinking, boooooring! Yeah, I know. I used to think the same thing. That was until I started to experiment in the kitchen and read recipe ideas online. I use to prepare chicken with the usual sort of stuff, brown rice, salad etc. Although there's nothing wrong (at all) with those, seeing what other people were cooking up at home really opened my eyes. Chicken breast is a fantastic source of protein and so versatile that you really can do just about anything with it. Try it for yourself a few times a week and get creative :)
Cherry Tomatoes: One of the hardest things I had to contend with during my weight loss was cravings for sweet foods. I'm a stickler for candy and chocolate and have an undeniable sweet-tooth. One (surprising) substitute I found was cherry tomatoes. OK, they may not be chocolate but for their size they pack a real punch and deliver a satisfyingly sweet sensation. The best part is they're low in calories so you can eat as many as you like without having to worry about the consequences. I normally just put a dish on the dining room table and gram a few when I'm passing.
Popcorn: This one may comes as a surprise to people but popcorn does a terrific job of keeping you full and has that satisfying salty 'crunch' which we all crave from time to time. All I use to do was buy a plain bag, then add my own toppings before putting it in the microwave. Perfect to enjoy when winding down after a long day in front of the TV!
