Winter’s just around the corner and you probably have a ton of summer clothing that you’re probably looking at right now and thinking “WTF am I going to do with all of this in the freezing cold?” well for starters, you don’t have to buy an entire collection of winter wear and then worry about what to keep and what not to. Just a few essentials will do and you’ll be able to utilize most if not all of your summer clothing this fall. Read on.
Leggings on kegs
Leggings are to the winters just as what shorts and short dresses are to summers – a match made in heaven. But you know what? You can easily combine the two to create a very comfortable ad unique look that’s just about perfect for winter. Leggings come in a variety of colors, designs, and textures. While owning two blacks pairs and a few nudes is a fashion essential, don’t hold yourself back with styles that are wild. And when you decide to reuse your summer skirts this fall, wear them with a pair of good quality leggings to cover your skin and keep your legs warm.
Full sleeves under sleeveless
And you’ve probably spent a fortune on summer dresses and sundresses that are too pretty to donate to a charity or give up in a garage sale. And neither can you wear it just like that in winters because you’re probably going to freeze to death in it. The good news is that you can wear a full-sleeved button down shirt or a turtleneck underneath your sleeveless sundresses and tops to cover your skin and still stay warm. Oh, did I forget to mention that looks very chic with a pinch of retro? In fact, this is such a great way to get extra mileage out of all your sleeveless and backless summer wear that you practically wouldn’t need to invest too much in winter wear.
A few good cardigans
At times I feel that a cardigan can be a lot more stylish, comfortable, and relaxing than an otherwise suffocating sweater. And if you’ve spent all of your summer’s savings on a variety of cropped tops from affordable and stylish online boutiques, then maybe all that you’ll need to keep wearing them in the winters is just a few good cardigans. Just pick your favorite top and wear it with your favorite jeans, and throw on a complementary cardigan for an effortlessly stylish winter look that works for just about any casual occasion. Oh, they even work with dresses for a slightly more formal look.
Layers and layers
Layering is the number one style tip for winters. Long boots over leggings under a skirt under a short sleeveless blouse over a button down shirt in a solid color inside a long coat and finished off with a scarf and a beanie; now doesn’t that sound fashionably cozy already? Ok, maybe not (lol), but try imagining it and then it will. A good selection of trusted and cherished outwear is all you need to top up most summer clothing in a layering extravaganza. Though you might want to look up a few guides on layering to avoid creating a mismatch and looking like a horrible wardrobe malfunction.
Boots on capris
Capris are another summer fashion essential that makes it to every woman’s wardrobe – in abundance. Naturally, they’re the perfect replacement to a pair of shorts or a bikini at the beach and also work great for a stroll or picnic in the park on a hot summer day. Nonetheless, throw on a pair of good winter boots and you’re good to wear them in the winters too. You can wear a pair of high socks to cover up the lower portions of skin on your legs and feet.
