Coconut water is a delicious alternative to regular drinking water.   After a long day for an extensive workout and ice-cold glass of coconut water can be extremely refreshing. I’ll bet you didn’t notice just how good for you this delicious beverage is.  When we sweat our bodies are depleted of valuable nutrients coconut water has a unique ability to give them back.Some people add coconut water to their post workout protein shakes for maximum impact. Nature provides many amazing ingredients that can be turned into smoothies quite easily. A simple nutritious and easy to drink meal is often just what the doctor ordered after heavy exercise.

Some of the more popular ingredients for protein addition our peanut butter or other nut butters, many types of seeds, and dried super foods such as algae, gogi berries, hemp and many others. Some of these ingredients taste fantastic on their on while others are better covered up or enhanced by stronger flavors. Super green smoothies sometimes take a little getting used to but the health benefits far outweigh the taste. Adding coconut water to a smoothie that doesn’t taste so good might help quite a bit. Most fitness trends cost an arm and a leg   this one however is extremely doable.  Coconut water is one of the few places your body can acquire just the right electrolytes from a naturally occurring source. Sports drinks are full of sugar and a ton of chemicals that are no good for your body.

For people looking for a light and flavorful alternative to soda and sports drinks mixing A little bit of juice with your coconut water can be a delicious sweet treat that is far better and more satisfying than soda. If you like the bubbles of carbonation you can also make your juice and coconut water with a bit of seltzer water for a delicious and nutritious fizzy drink. This beverage can even be used for parties and entertaining. Add a little bit of tropical love and subtle flavor to all your favorites smoothies, juice combinations, protein drinks, and party beverages.  The sky is truly the limit when it comes to the possibilities and the many recipes you can achieve with this simple ingredient.
