Multiple Types of Essential Oil for Blackhead Treatment

Blackheads are one of the most common skin problems that might ruin completely your appearance and confidence. Blackheads are not as noticeable as other types of pimples and it is challenging to wait for them to disappear.

Blackheads can be categorized among different kinds of acne and they appear when hair follicle in your skin is clogged. Clogged pores may become more dangerous when bacteria or oil in the skin concentrate in them. In this case, the oils will be oxidized by the oxygen, which leads to the appearance of blackheads.

In fact, it is common to witness a number of people suffer from blackheads on nose or face. Sometimes, blackheads appear in other parts of body, such as back or shoulders.

There are numerous reasons to cause blackheads. Hormones and the excess release of oil are usually blamed. Besides, a common cause which many people ignore is the overuse of skin products. They contain some mineral oils which worsen the situation. Unbalanced diet is also a possible catalyst.

1) Tea Tree Oil

With antiseptic quality, tea tree oil is a great choice to erase blackheads. In addition, this oil is particularly useful if you want to prevent bacteria from penetrating in the clogged pores and causing worse infections.

To get better results, you had better mix some drops of tea tree oil with baking soda (about one teaspoon). This mixture should be used to scrub infected skin areas. One thing to remember about tea tree oil is not to let it contact the eyes.

2) Lavender Oil

With a wonderful aromatic smell, lavender oil is a favorite type for many people around the world, especially women. However, it is not only aromatic but also very helpful to deal with skin problems, like blackheads. With cleansing quality, lavender oil will eliminate dirt in your skin and reduce the risk of clogged pores. As a result, you can prevent blackheads in advance.

Lavender oil can be applied directly over areas affected by blackheads. If you want to maximize the benefits, it is a good idea to combine it with another type of oil, for example, olive oil.

3) Lemongrass Essential Oil

Lemongrass is usually regarded as one of the best remedies for infections. As blackheads result from skin infections, it is undeniable that lemongrass can serve to help your skin recover soon. With antifungal and antiseptic qualities, lemongrass is a wonderful tip for treating acne in general and blackheads in particular.

You can mix 20-25 drops of this oil into your skin cream and use it regularly on a daily basis.

4) Eucalyptus Oil

Working as efficiently as other types of oil, eucalyptus oil protects our skin from the damage of bacteria. In addition to blackheads, excess sebum might be prevented if you use eucalyptus oil regularly. You can do the same way as you do with lemongrass essential oil by mixing the oil with moisturizing cream.

5) Citrus Essential Oils

Last but not least, citrus essential oils, which refer to many different types of oil, play an important role in the blackhead treatment. They all possess astringent qualities. You can make use of lemon or bergamot oils to eliminate blackheads by rubbing it directly on the skin. Nevertheless, be cautious because you might find some of them photo-sensitizing.
