How stressful is moving home?

How stressful is moving home? Well, the answer to that
question is very simple – very. Moving
home is very stressful for a lot of
people and when you’re not used to packing up your life and moving it somewhere
else it can be a pretty overwhelming event. But, it doesn’t have to be. If
you’re one of those people that don’t thrive in chaos then here are a few tips
on how to make moving home a simple and (almost) stress free process.

Find the right estate

Whether you’re selling your home or buying a new one, a good
estate agent is going to come in handy. Rather than trying to sell it yourself
and figuring things out as you go along, an estate agent will take all of the
hard and confusing work off of your hands, so all you’ll have to do is sit back
and watch them work their magic. When you’re looking for
great estate
agents in Colchester to sell your home
you need to know the right
questions to ask. If you want to see how an estate agent will sell your house,
approach them and pretend that you’re looking to buy a property. Pay attention
to how they advertise their properties and how they pitch them. If you’re not
convinced, move on. When it comes to getting your house appraised, don’t always
accept their appraisals at face value. They might be hiking up the value of
your home in order to convince you to sell through them. Get your house
appraised by at least a few different professionals to get a rough idea of what
it’s worth. Overall, the key to finding the right estate agent is to just keep
asking questions. It might take some work at first, but when you find the right
estate agent you’ll reap the rewards.

Start early and stay

If you have a deadline for your move, get started on it
early. While you don’t necessarily have to pack everything up months before
your move, you can at least get all of the paperwork out of the way and get rid
of a few sources of stress. Make yourself a ‘moving home’ folder to keep all of
your important bits of paper. This includes any licenses, forms, important
letters and list that you might need. Keep it safe and visible at all times so
you can quickly flip through it and asses what needs to be done regularly.

Give yourself time to

Sometimes the stress we feel when moving has a deeper
meaning to it. It’s hard moving home, especially when you’ve been living in one
place for a long time, and transporting your life to somewhere new can be
emotionally exhausting. So, spare a few days before you move to come to terms
with your move and say goodbye to your home. Invite a few friends round to celebrate
your move or spend a quiet night in. Do something that will help you de-stress
so that when the day finally comes you can get through the job with a clear
