Technically, E.O.T. crane stands for Electric Overhead Travelling crane, which is used for proper handling & moving a component with tons of weight in a particular zone. EOT cranes can be easily operated via electric power or through manual effort. It has high load bearing capacity, best single & double girder Cranes Lifting Magnets and a good solution for your materials handling.
How Overhead Cranes Are Used
EOT or electric overhead travelling crane is used essentially for the refinement of steel and other metals like aluminium and copper.Throughout the process, at every step of manufacturing, metal refinement is run by an overhead crane. At the most initial stage, the hot metal is directly poured into the furnace with the help of crane. In due course, the hot metal is rolled into a specified thickness and finally tempered. Later, this is stored by an overhead crane for cooling. The cold and finished coils are further loaded on the carrying trucks with overhead cranes.
The fabricator or stamper of the overhead crane is also useful for lifting the components. In the automobile industry, overhead cranes are used to transport raw materials from one place to another.
Electric overhead cranes are also used in the paper mills these days. Since bridge cranes are high maintenance, electric alternatives are used for the proper removal of heavy press rolls and other equipment. Even during the initial phase of paper machine construction, these cranes are used as they help in seamless installation of paper drying drums made of heavy cast iron and other massive equipment, some of which weighs around 100 tons as well.
Sometimes overhead electric cranes also come at an affordable price than the other efficient options. In fact, many construction sites use electric overhead cranes on rent these days, if they can’t afford a purchased one.
Among the major advantages of EOT crane, mention must be made of its safety features.Unlike the forklift cranes that are used in the warehouse floor, overhead cranes do not run the risk of dropping goods while transporting or inaccurate stacking. With overhead cranes, there will be significantly reduced risk of crashing or accidents. Moreover, electric overhead cranes are way more effective at seamless transportation of the bulky loads quickly.
And, finally, when most of the lifting equipment are going automated these days,an overhead crane that requires less manual intervention is certainly a preferred option. As a result, EOT cranes run the lower risk of injury and of course minimum work related stress.
