Are you the type of person who hits the beach in a trusty black one-piece, every single year without fail? If so, you are unlikely to be reading this article. If, on the other hand, you like to be up to speed with the latest trends and wouldn’t be seen dead in a one-piece that’s five years old, read on for some hot swimwear trends for 2017.
Dreaming about a summer vacation is an excellent way to make it through the next few months. Most people book their summer vacation well in advance, which gives them plenty of time to plan a suitable wardrobe. Swimwear is, of course, a key component of any woman’s vacation wardrobe. If you are heading off to the beach, you will need a swimsuit or bikini, but even if you are staying in a cheap motel, it is bound to have a pool where you can hangout and catch some sun.
We have browsed through designer collections and sought advice from a host of celebrities to compile this list of 2017 swimwear trends. Pick the style that best suits your body type and you can start looking forward to your summer break today.
Each of the following styles is available in a range of different budgets. Most designer collections are copied and on the high street before the models have departed the catwalks. If your budget permits, invest in a designer swimsuit from Victoria’s Secret, but if you want style on a budget, look for on-trend swimsuits online, as they will be cheaper.
Sheer Mesh Swimwear
Sheer mesh fabrics are proving to be popular on the catwalks. Mesh fabrics in black, white, and neutral colors transform a swimsuit into something very sexy. You are covered up, but the mesh provides an intriguing glimpse of skin beneath. This style is like the ever-popular cut-out swimwear trend, which is why we can expect to see plenty of mesh bikinis and swimsuits on the beach this summer.
Cut-out swimwear is enduringly popular. Celebrities love to flaunt their sleek figures with interesting cut-out designs. It is a great way to draw attention to your figure and highlight your most alluring features. However, cut-out designs and mesh style swimwear should be treated with caution if you intend on mixing and matching different styles on vacation. The downside of wearing either style is that you will end up with some rather unfortunate tan lines.
Nude fabrics are very hot this year. Going nude is not recommended unless you are on a nudist beach, but pale, nude fabrics accentuate a suntan perfectly. Go for a nude crochet bikini or a beige swimsuit once you have a nice tan. Avoid wearing nude if you are naturally pale; from a distance, you will look as if you skipped the swimwear completely, which could cause some consternation on a family-friendly beach.
High Neck Halter
High neck halter styles are very popular with athletic types. Taylor Swiftis fond of wearing halter neck tankini bikinis, as the style suits
her sleek figure perfectly. High neck halter styles are great for athletic, slim women with small breasts. If your breasts are on the voluptuous side, you will need more support.
Monokinis are still popular, with many celebrities opting to show off their svelte figures in a monochrome monokini. This style is not for everyone, as it often draws attention to the bits you won’t want people to look at, but if you have a great figure and you want to attract attention, go for a white or metallic monokini.
Quite a few designer collections for 2017 feature sexy lace-up styles. High leg swimsuits with lacing up the side look sexy and provocative. Another option is to mix and match bikini bottoms with a lace-up tankini top. We have also seen some cute high-waisted lace-up bikini bottoms, which are a nice touch with a bandeau bikini top.
Asymmetrical swimwear is edgy and fun. Ditch the classic one piece or bikini in favor of
an off-the-shoulder tankini or swimsuit. It’s a great look for the beach this summer, especially if you opt for neon or black.
Swimwear is designed to show some flesh, but if you really want to show off your assets, wear a plunging neck one-piece this year. It’s hot, sexy, and bang on-trend.
