Month 2, Day 44: The bad kind of pain

So I was doing great on the Max Interval Circuit. I was feeling good and surprisingly since I had started out the workout with a migraine. Well I was focusing on my abs and really making sure that I'm doing all the workouts the correct way and just really focusing on form this round so I can be on point the next time. Well I don't know what happened, but during the side punch squat things I went up to punch and I felt an extremely sharp pain. I thought it was nothing at first, but when I went to go take a deep breath there was intense pain. I then stopped and massaged where I thought the pain was, which is my right shoulder. That helped some with the breathing so I tried to press play again, but then I realized that I had really hurt something. I only had 16 minutes left to go so I did what any crazy workout a holic would do and I kept going. I didn't want pain to ruin my workout. 


I remember running a relay race in high school after I had just injured my knee. My knee was uncomfortable the whole time I ran and it hurt so badly, but I did it anyway. This was a little more intense than that. I am really hurting now and I am mad that it kind of messed me up. I tried to do the moving pushups and just fell because of the sharp pain scared me. I can't turn my head all the way to the left or all the way to the right. 


During the stretches I think it felt the best, but afterwards the pain came right back. I actually think this is the same spot I injured when I first got the Wii and played Wii sports baseball. I was trying to be cool and prove I could swing lefty too and well I was able to swing lefty, but what I did on my second swing was stupid. I decided to swing as hard as I could and I swung my right arm back and it popped causing an intense pain like this one. 


I will ice it tonight and hope to goodness that it will be okay for Max interval plyo tommorrow. 


 


I finally got an exercise mat, but I don't like this one, it moves way too much on this carpet!! I think the other one I was going to get would have stayed put better, but then again I'm not really sure. 


 


I always heard in high school "no pain, no gain" and today I gained some extra pain by working through my pain. My body feels great otherwise and I'm looking forward to tomorrows workout! :-)
