Shining By Night

Happiness was promised,

Loyalty too,

But all was abandoned,

When something became clear to you.

Shining by morning,

Bleeding by night,

These days are sorrowful,

As bitter tactics take their worst bite.

The chance at hand,

If it hadn't been took,

They'd both be happy,

And back she does look.

Her spirit is broken,

Her heart as well,

But worse of all,

Is all that to her he did tell.

Sleep was easy,

When she fell asleep to his dream,

He was in love,

Or that's how he made it seem.

Love was mistaken for care,

Care was mistaken for fear,

Fear of her leaving,

It was known his spot in her heart would clear.

But here she does think,

When she smiled,

It was because of him.

And then his spot is renewed.

Coating the walls, a blanket of crimson red,

She watches the blood as it spatters,

It's done, he's gone, he killed it, it's dead.

In one blow her world shatters.

The tears mingled with the blood on the paper,

'You selfish jackass,' said the goodbye note,

'I wish you'd come back, I still love you,'

'Or loved.' I wrote.
