What To Expect During Your Breast Augmentation Recovery

What To Expect During Your Breast Augmentation
Recovery

Post your breast augmentation surgery, you will have to take at least a week
or two off from work and also require some support and help from family or
friends during the first few days of your recovery period. Usually the day
after your surgery, your surgeon may call you back into the office to check on
your sutures and the incisions. In case the stitches are not dissolvable, you
will be required to go back to your surgeon for removal of stitches within a
week from your surgery. Follow up visits are then scheduled at 3 weeks, 6 weeks
and 3 months to ensure that the healing continues as per the plan. Most women
are able to get back to active exercises 3 weeks post surgery though any
strenuous work must still be avoided for the first 6 weeks after your surgery.

Oral pain medication helps with any pain or
discomfort you may experience during your post surgery recovery period. In case you return to physical activities early
on during your recovery period, it will not affect your results but it will
certainly slow down your healing process and your recovery period will be
longer. For this very reason, it is important that you rest as per your
surgeon’s recommendation to ensure you return to normalcy in a timely fashion.

It is important to keep in mind that no two
people are the same and we all heal differently. The timeframe for healing and
the recovery period as well as the instructions will vary for everybody
depending on their individual requirements. You can get personalized details on
your recovery period from your surgeon during your consultation.
