When you are visiting your local hat store you are bound to see several hat styles that you perhaps be unaware of. Styles and fashions are always changing; but some of them are just to stay around forever. Below is a quick review of some of the latest hat fashion trends along with some old favorites.
The Cowboy hat happens to be an all times favorite, and it is not only for ranchers either. Several people who love western styles and great music also love wearing these cowboy hats. Such hats are not only for men anymore; you can find amazing hats for women as well in brightly decorated and colored hats.
One other popular option is the top hat which is very frequently worn for formal events like proms and weddings. Even women have started wearing these top hats, though these are generally decorated with tulle, flowers, ribbons, lace, etc.
The Sailor caps are also called as the boater, which made their debut during the 1800’s. This is basically a straight brim cap which is made of straw with a ribbon band and is stiff and has a flat crown. Though it is not very popular in the present times, this cap was enjoyed mainly by kids and women.
If you have seen the Jacki Kennedy in a small hat with a flat crown and straight sides then this hat is called as a pill box and was very much popular in the 60’s era. Once women saw how amazing the pill box appeared to be they merely had to have one for themselves. Check out more about Linen hats here
The bowler hat, which is also known as Derby, has turned up sides, a low crown and a rounded brim. The bowler is generally made of hard felt as it was introduced to offer protection for the head and eyes while horseback riding. This is still a very popular option for kids and women today.
The fedora hat, which was basically designed for men, has now made its way to even women’s mainstream trends. Women are now seen in fedoras too that are highly decorated with tule, ribbons, bows, etc to just plain. Men also look great in fedoras.
So, no matter what your style there is a hat or cap out there for you. Whether you intend to look classy, dress up, feel amazing or just cover up a bad hair day – it is hard that you go wrong with it!
