That moment where you don't care what you look like and smile is ironically one of your most beautiful moments. I think girls, teenagers, young women, adults - the female race are all so busy finding out what makeup suits them best or what clothes are the most in fashion that they manage to lose their self their personality in the fashion and beauty world where all the matters is that you look as much like a model or as stunning as possible.
I get that. I wake up in the morning and look at myself in the mirror and think where is the makeup, foundation, mascara. I need a hairbrush or some straighteners. I walk to my wardrobe and think 'I have nothing to wear'. I smile at myself in the mirror to see if I can make that grimace turn into something refreshing and happy.
I read fashion magazines and read what I need to do to make myself be nicer aesthetically. I buy as expensive and on-trend clothes as I can afford. I have my HTC with me to take pictures with my friends, us both trying to look our nicest. I go home and edit them and then stick them up on facebook and wait for people to comment saying 'you look so nice!' or 'i love your top' or 'so pretty, it's unfair'.
But we all do that don't we.
We all want to look good, to feel good about ourselves.
And that is the world we live in today.
So what I'm doing while I'm on my holidays is wearing what I want to wear (too poor to buy anything else) trying to avoid pouting when I look in the mirror, leaving my hair in good condition and wearing half the amount of makeup I would normally do.
I don't think everyone should go without makeup, straighteners/curlers and fashionable clothes, I just think that people should inject a bit of themselves into what they're wearing, show off their personality a little bit, have a couple of flaws, not consistantly strive to be perfect.
Will I succeed in my task? I don't know, but I will post before I go to Italy (in two weeks) and tell you the outcome.
Long time no see, I know, but I've been busy.
Got a new blog, a design one (graphic design, interior design, architectural design) so if you need help designing a room or website or finding some nice things to buy for your home then do just leave a comment here and I'll try and write an entry which will give you some inspiration:
