Lots of people want to become models for many different reasons.
But you have to face the music and get infront of that mirror and ask yourself these questions because, unfortunatly, if you don't have these 'qualities' then you probably won't have a very long successful career in modelling. (Some of these qualities will be different based on the type of modelling you want to do.) You will need to be healthy, have clear skin, have well looked after healthy hair which is nice to look at and overall symmetry. If you want to be modelling clothes, then your going to need long legs and be quite tall, though height and weight is different depending on the type you want to be. You want to be fit as well but not have too bulky muscles.
Then your going to have to decide what kind of model you want to be. Look around for inspiration and look at pictures of models doign different things and see what appeals to you and what model you look like most. For example:
If your curvy and quite full then you could be a plus size model.
If your tall (at the very least 5'7 for editorial & 5'8 for catwalk.), slim wiht a small breast size then you could be a catwalk model.
If you have large breasts but not very wide hips, you can be an underwear model.
If you have a nice face with pretty features and even skin and it is all very well proportioned then you could be a face model, advertising makeup.
If you have gorgeous hair then you could appear on shampoo and hair products adverts.
Get some photos done, try and get them proffesional as they will capture your best angles and stuff, but they don't have to be. At the very least you need a headshot and a full body shot. Get them to be printed into 8x10s if you are doing them yourself.
Look up some modelling agencies which have a good reputation for looking after the models and not pushing them into anything or something and book an appointment.
Then take it from there! Your lucky if you get that far and they accept!
