so as im answering peoples questions, which i love to do even if i never follow my own advice, im noticing that all my tips are things my mother is constantly telling me to do so i thought i would compile a list of "mom tips"
skin--- drink water! at the very least eight glasses a day, don't touch your face if you can help it it just spreads dirt and oil, baking soda is the best scrub you can buy it's much cheaper and lasts longer than anything on the market, honey is the best facial mask its hydrating and if it gets in your mouth its okay its yummy!, baby oil right after a shower is a fantastic moisturizer tea tree oil applied directly to blemishes works as well as benzoil peroxide, taking a vitamin e supplement a day keeps away mosquitos and leaves skin soft, too much eyeliner makes eyes look smaller, use broken blush as lip colour just put the peices into a bag ang squish until its a powder then dip chapstick into the powder, shimmer= good glitter=young, blush should not scream IM WEARING BLUSH! rather just look like a natural flush, peppermint oil is the best lip plumper, both milk and vinegar are great for sunburn relief cutting down on carbonation improves skin, the biggest one is not everyone is staring at your zits you only think they are
hair--- you know how your hair gets all sexy and tousled and my-hair-is-messy-but-damn-dont-you-wish-your-hair-could-look-like-this-ish when you swim in the ocean? well to achieve a similar look mix in a spray bottle 1 1/2 cups water 1/2 cups hairspray 2tbs salt spray and scrunch the mixture can be adjusted to your hair- mine is already curly so i dont need much hairspray, rinsing brunette hair in coffee makes hair shiny plus it smells soooo good!, spraying a lemon water mixture on blonde hair keeps it from getting brassy, forget brushing 100 times a day for long hair just a nice scalp massage a day stimulates blood flow, hair needs sunscreen too!, over-processing is never attractive, using a fluffy brush and lightly dustng gold shimmer powder onto hair makes a pretty high light effect,
life tips--- raw unpasturized honey and cinnamon are miracle workers, brush your teeth with some baking soda sprinkled on the toothpaste, never over pluck your eyebrows!!, some simple yoga or stretching in the morning is a great pick me up, take pauses when eating this way its easier to stop when you are really full, clothes that look spray painted to your body do not look good no matter how nice of a body you have, humility is always instyle, telling yourself that you are pretty is definitely okay, be yourself even if its hard to know who that is sometimes, everyone makes mistakes little mistakes and the ones that really f things up...EVERYONE, if you want something you'll never get it until you ask, soaking jewellery in ammonia brings out the shine, putting baby powder in your shoes keeps them from getting all nasty sweaty (particularly nice for dance shoes) hair holds scent better than skin so i always put perfume in three key places cleavage back of neck and the top of my head your hair will smell great and stay that way. the most important thing that my mom has ever taught me though is to put my shoulders back and smile. it makes you look and feel more confident :)
scarily enough this isnt even all the stuff she tell me so i will probablybe updating soon. hope i helped some of you guys :)
