Valentine Day is right around the corner & one of the
burning questions that most of the people have is "Why should I celebrate
this Valentine Day"?. Because it's just a made-up holiday?.

Valentine Day is celebrated on 14th of February in the name of
Saint Valentine who died on the same day i.e 14th February.

Saint Valentine was a Priest back in the ancient Rome during the
rule of the Roman Emperor Claudius II. The emperor has decided to outlaw the
marriage for the Roman Soldiers & he prohibited all the Soldiers from
marrying & to have a family. According to him, the Soldiers should only
serve the Rome with no other distractions.

And many people did not agree with the decision taken by the
Emperor. One of the biggest disagreement came from the Saint Valentine who
decided to go against the orders of the Emperor of his Kingdom.

Saint Valentine started to marry soldiers in a Secret Marriage
ceremony. Eventually, Valentine was caught doing this crime in the eyes of the
emperor and he was instantly imprisoned. 

Valentine during his stay in the jail he was very good to his
fellow prisoners. And it is also said that Valentine Cared for a Blind girl who
was the daughter of the Jailer.

It is said that before Saint Valentine was executed he healed
the Blind Girl & helped her to see the world again. 

Valentine was executed on 14th of February for going against the
law of the Roman Emperor.

helping those who Loved.

History of Valentine Day Celebration:

Now after the dead of Valentine it was not until around 14th
Century that the Day started to be celebrated as a Valentine Day.

And finally, 14th Feb started to be recognized as a day for
lovers in the name of Saint Valentine.

People started to wish each other & exchange gifts &
valentine day cards for showing the love that they have for each other.

And eventually the Valentine Day a two long week celebration.
