Weddings are an important time for sharing. The bride and groom have chosen to share their special day with you. In return, the guests share their time and thoughts with the happy family. If you’re on a tight budget, picking out a wedding gift can be a stressful task. There are sure to be guests bringing expensive home items, and you don’t want to feel that your gift is inadequate. But giving gifts is not about the value of the price tag, but the thought that went into picking it out. Here are 4 fun ideas for gifts that are inexpensive, but still demonstrate the emotion and time you put into selecting it.
The Wine and Chocolate Pineapple
This inexpensive, handmade gift is sure to make a statement. Both chocolate and wine are enjoyable, but a bit indulgent. This gift provides the bride and groom with a little guilty pleasure they can enjoy in the privacy of their own home. The packaging is incredibly unique and highlights the time and effort you put into creating the gift. To create the wine and chocolate pineapple you’ll need a standard bottle of wine, two packages of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, some leaves,a ribbon and a bit of hot glue. Wrap the wine in any old newspaper or cloth and put it in place with a bit of tape. You can then add a dab of hot glue and attach them to the cloth. For the top, simply take your leaves and tie them to the stem of the wine bottle with the ribbon.
Wedding Party Sparklers
Although the bride and groom have already selected a number of wedding supplies, this is something they probably neglected. Sparklers were invented in ancient china, and have been used for hundreds of years to commemorate important events. There are many different types of wedding party sparklers available that will let you take this timeless tradition and share it with everyone at the wedding. Despite the powerful, festive atmosphere they create, they are extremely inexpensive to purchase. You’ll be able to create a fun moment for every guest to enjoy without breaking the bank.
Do-it-Yourself Personalized Cutting Board
While this handmade gift might seem like a bit of work, it’s actually a very fun project. A cutting board is a very useful item to have around, so you know this is going to be a gift that the happy couple will treasure for many years to come. You only need two simple items: A wood burning tool and a basic cutting board. The cutting board can be made from wood or bamboo, but should not be painted. These can be easily found for under $10. Some craft stores may rent wood burning tools, but you can also purchase them for around $20. If you’re artistic, you can take a pencil and draw out the design you’d like to create. Even if your drawing abilities are not up to scratch, all you have to do is print off a design of your choice on the computer and trace it with a pencil. Personally, I like to write the couple’s names. But this is an area where you can really get creative! Once you’ve got the outline penciled onto the cutting board, slowly trace your outline with the wood burning tool. This should char the wood, creating a rustic-looking design that has just a hint of home-made charm.
