One of the best ways of talking your heart out is having the utmost confidence. However, if you have dental disorders, it can hinder you. Lack of confidence when you are talking can be caused by several factors such as discolored teeth, teeth loss, bad smell, misaligned teeth, etc. When it comes to teeth loss, one of the most recognized and successful ways of dealing with teeth loss is by use of a dental implant. For the misaligned teeth, you can visit your dentist in order to advise on the best way, either use of braces or Invisalign. Both braces and Invisalign works in the same way but the Invisalign is usually invisible and they help in improving the long-term oral health.
I am a first-hand beneficiary of how the Invisalign changed my not-so-good smile to a perfect smile. When I visited my dentist, I had an open bite situation. This occurs when the upper teeth fail to make contact with the lower teeth. This may be caused by genetics or even thumb sucking. There are many oral issues that may result from this. For instance, I was unable to chew food properly and there may be issues when it comes to speaking. I found it important to have it treated early enough to avoid other jawbone disorders.
Why I preferred Invisalign over braces?
As much as braces work as good as an Invisalign but to curb my open bite, I had to choose Invisalign for several reasons. For instance,
They are easy to clean and maintain.
Before putting the Invisalign on, we had a discussion with my dentist and one of the considerations that I made was that I needed to deal with the open bite with an easy-to-clean option and Invisalign offered this benefit. Unlike braces that cannot be removed, I was able to remove Invisalign trays so that I could thoroughly clean the teeth.
They are comfortable.
In addition to cleanliness and maintaining the oral health, I needed something that would be comfortable considering that I was to stay with the Invisalign trays for about 12 months. We found that braces use wires that usually snag the mouth. For Invisalign, it is made from soft plastic trays which are more comfortable. The braces also find some scratches in their mouth when they use braces but this does not occur with Invisalign.
The Invisalign procedure is faster.
Invisalign procedure for straight teeth is faster. As I found out, wired braces take up to 36 months to give the much-desired results while Invisalign requires only 12 months.
After about one year, I had my smile back with the help of the invisible Invisalign trays.
