How to Write a Book and Don't Quit Your Job?

When you decide to write that first book one important decision that you will be faced with is whether to quit your day job or not. While many writers have made it as writers while writing part-time others have devoted their entire lives to writing and succeeded. The numbers that have failed in both circumstances are also of equal measure. The truth is that while some people will be great writers only if they quit their jobs, others are able to shine in both fields.

If you think you belong to the latter, here are some tips you will find useful. And don't forget to use an essay editor http://edusson.com/essay-editing-workshop.

Do you really want to write?

This is a very important question that you need to answer honestly. Are you really a writer or is this something you just think you can pull off? If you do not have the will to write then starting the venture will be a waste of time. You will most probably end up with unfinished piece of writing or a poorly done one. Writing is not easy and you may want to get a few pointers on how to write good literature before you start. Be sure that you actually want to write and are ready for all the steps from creating the manuscripts to publishing.

If you are passionate you will be ready to sweat

If you think you can write a book and are passionate about it, you will be ready to put in the time to write even when your schedule is tight. Many writers who have succeeded in writing their first book while still working their day job. You can too. Just be ready to work hard; sleep late, get up early and write on weekends. It will be tasking but if you have the heart for it you will be able to do it. This will test if you really are into writing as much as you think.

Be disciplined

Set targets for yourself and strive to reach them. This is what makes a good writer. From the little free time you have be sure to set aside enough time to write and be devoted. Remember that this is just something that you love to do and no one will be there to push you.

Plan

It is important to plan your free time. There are other things that you will want to do during this other than writing. Determine how much will go to each activity. You will need to cut some activities from your routine so as to create time to write. Forget about watching dumb cat videos, playing video games and chatting with friends on social media. Make writing your primary goal and you will make it.

Family support

You will be busy most of the time and may not have time to spend with family and friends. Explain the situation to them and make sure they understand why you may not pick their call the next time you call them or decline an invitation to dinner. If you are married or in a relationship explain to your better half that they may be sleeping alone for longer hours while you try and achieve your writing goals. Explain that this will only be for a while and you will soon be through with the book and they can have you back.
