Celebrity Fitness Trends

You have kids to take to school, a boss to keep happy, and a batch of dry cleaning to fetch. Your to-do list seems to get longer every day. These daily tasks add up and can make it difficult to eat right and exercise. You know that it’s important, but sometimes you just don’t have the motivation or the time.

Putting your health first is a challenge. Maybe what you really need is some inspiration from people who make looking great a part of their job description. Here to help you find a good reason to try a new healthy entree, or dazzle at the gym in cool new tennis shoes, are some celebrity fitness trends.

Changing your diet

While she may have used the Master Cleanse diet to prepare for her role in Dreamgirls, Beyoncé has also tried veganism, which means cutting out animal products – including eggs, milk, and cheese. The hit TV series Bones often shows Dr. Temperance Brennan fixing vegetarian meals for her family. In real life, Emily Deschanel is a vegan. These two talented women are joined by a wide variety of entertainers, including Ellen DeGeneres and Pamela Anderson.

If you don’t want to go full-on vegan, stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow look to the Elimination Diet, a 21-day cleanse that eliminates gluten, dairy, and meat. If you need something that you can supplement with side dishes for your family, then try the cabbage soup diet. You’ll be in the company of Sarah Michelle Gellar and Dolly Parton on this seven-day adventure, which is said to be effective for quick weight loss.

Getting your body moving

If you’re more interested in implementing an exercise routine, you should consider some of the regimes to which the stars are flocking. Right now, taking it to the barre is very popular. Model Jourdan Dunn uses ballet-style movements mixed with interval training to look great, and the routine will improve your posture as well.

It may sound silly, but Alessandra Ambrosio finds the Brazil Butt Workout a great way to keep her amazing body ready for those Victoria’s Secret shoots. With its Brazilian dance moves, you’ll have a blast checking out its different workouts. Ever heard of Barry’s Bootcamp? It’s a treadmill and strength workout that counts Ellie Goulding among its fans, and it’s one of many boot camp experiences that can keep you excited about getting fit.

Everything old is new again. While there are always new trends to entice you, consider the tried and tested methods of the following celebrities. Miranda Kerr and Jessica Alba look to yoga to supplement their gym sessions. If you can’t get to a yoga class, you can try an app by Jennifer Aniston’s yoga instructor, Mandy Ingber. Yogalosophy is a 28-day program in which you can find recipes, record your progress, and more.

Not every star spends hours a day working out. Kate Hudson vouches for 20 minutes of daily running and sprinting hills, while Carrie Underwood is into Tabata. This is a four-minute interval training program that alternates intense cardio with rest periods. Tabata and other High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) apps are also available for your mobile devices.

Gear that inspires

Of course, you want to be comfortable when you are working out. Great workout clothing can also make you feel energized and motivated to move. For clothing that supports you during and after your workouts, check out compression clothing; the copper and zinc-infused fabric is engineered for women, and you won’t find better workout clothes for women.

Besides providing good support for your feet, invest in some great new shoes. You want to match your shoe to your activity; for example, real tennis shoes have a wide sole for the lateral moves on a tennis court. When your feet feel good, so do you!

You know that keeping hydrated is important, but getting those eight glasses of water a day can be tough. Elle Macpherson and Cameron Diaz both confirm the benefits of drinking water. You might be more excited to drink your daily dose if you have the right water bottle. Pick something like the bkr bottle, which is favored by Gisele Bündchen, or get a fruit infuser bottle to keep yourself hydrated.

There are many ways to prioritize your health. You can look to the stars for inspiration and ideas. You can get gear that will make you look and feel like a star. Whatever it takes to inspire you, you’ll be healthier in the long run.
