I am a self proclaimed make up addict and spend all my money on products and clothes. I have a large collection of make- up and have tried most of the brands available. So I have an idea when to spend more and when to save.
When it comes to a foundation ALWAYS buy A known brand! Drug store brands are perfect (Revlon, Rimmel, etc) These products do the job they promise to and last the entire day. Just make sure you match the colour perfectly!
Mascara! I tried a few high end mascaras (Lancome and MAC) As well as Rimmel and other drug store products. And I truly believe that the Drug store Mascaras are just as great if not better than the high end products.
Eye shadows. These are a bit trickier. The cheaper eyeshadows ( Not drug store brands but the really really cheap no name brand types) tend to not be pigmented at all, and the colours do not last at all and they tend to fade into each other a lot. BUT some cheap ones do work well and are great. So my advice when it comes to purchasing eye shadows is trial and error. Find the brands which work well and stick to them. I prefer Revlon and Essence when it comes to eyeshadows but, I have found other brands ( which are much cheaper) which also work well
Lip colours are easy! I found that Revlon make the best lip colours and are inexpensive. MAC lipsticks are also a fave but they are a bit pricey so I tend to buy more from Revlon. The Cheaper lipsticks do not last long But I noticed that if I apply concealer and a lip liner before I apply the lipstick they stay on longer but still need to be applied more often.
