Essence has a full skincare range but I am a bit hesitant to try it at the moment. My skin is not in the best condition so I do not want to change up my routine.
The only skincare product I use is the My skin mattifying cream. If you read my posts I’m pretty sure all my beauty posts since March maybe mentions this product and how I apply it. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT and if you have oily skin TRY IT!!
This is the only area where I feel essence is not that great. They do have a few different types of foundation (liquid, mousse, tinted moisturizer, etc) but I couldn’t find 1 product which matched my skin.
I tried the Forget it 3in 1 concealer and I have two full posts dedicated to it so if you are interested check them out before you decide to buy them.
The I love stage eye shadow base works well for me but I have to use a ton of products in conjunction with it to achieve best possible result. I have oily lids so it’s not entirely the products fault.
I’ve had really bad luck when it comes to bronzers over the years. A lot of bronzers make me look way too tan or they are not tan enough.
The essence bronzer I use is the perfect shade and it can be layered to create or a more contoured look or used in one swipe for a sun-kissed glow.
Bronzing compact powder matt 01 love to be matt
As for blush the blush I have been using almost every day is Silky touch blush 20 babydoll. It is a pretty matte pink shade that almost 100% matches my natural blush.
Essence recently launched a Mousse/Cream blush range. I’ve look at the ones in my drugstore and I wasn’t keen on the colours for my skin tone. I swatched the colour on my hand and the colour payoff was great and they stayed on my hand for a good few hours. I would suggest that you try them if you like the colours. Should they release more colours I would definitely purchase it.
Hands down these are the best gel eyeliner I have ever used. They are highly pigmented and the colour does not fade throughout the day. Even after an intense workout these liners stay put. Test them out for yourself; I’ve compared them to Revlon and MAC (the MAC black gel liner is not as black as the essence one. I apply them with the Essence gel liner brush and the brush is surprisingly amazing too.
These are my 2 top gel liner picks
01 midnight in Paris (black)
03 Berlin rocks (purple)
I also tested out the black waterproof liquid liner. It is 100% waterproof and does not smudge at all (no more racoon eyes).
The only complaint that I have with the product is the applicator. I attempted to use it for the first few times and found it impossible. I prefer using a felt tip applicator (I also an old liquid felt tip pen from essence)
I have tried both the 2in 1 Kajal pencil and the Long-lasting eye pencil (retractable eyeliner)
Personally I prefer the Long-lasting eye pencil. The Kajal pencils are not that pigmented and they fade away after a few hours. The long-lasting ones are truly long lasting .My favourite, 06 seventh heaven, is a pretty teal colour. If I apply it at 7am its still on my lids at 4pm after a long day of classes.
If you have tried any products I have not mentioned, please let me know below so that I can test them out too.
