easy campus breakfast ideas

Hey all:-)

I don't eat breakfast! And in halfway through my dietetics (human  nutrition degree). I should be ashamed of myself I know but I just don't have an appetite early in the morning. I usually just have coffee when I wake up and then around 10 -11 I will have a snack. The problem with this is that I usually only have a few seconds between classes to eat and thus opt for something easy to eat but not that good for me.

This semester however I planned ahead and I would like to share my easy breakfast ideas with you.

  • Fruit salad with muesli and  yoghurt. This is the easist Just grab everything before you leave

  • Bran muffin and apple

  • Boiled egg.You can boil the egg the night before and keep it in the fridge.Beware the smell

  • Smoothies. If you have a little more time in the morning this is ideal. I often drink this during my first class.

  • 1 glass milk /yoghurt

  • handful of almonds

  • 1 tbl honey

  • small banana

  • ice

Just blend all of the ingredients together and serve. I sometimes also add about 2tbls of muesli if i want something more filling.

Good suggestions, that smoothie recipe made me hungry. It's true, breakfast really is the most important meal of the day! I like to use powdered nutrition shakes because they’re portable and easy to take on the go. Spirutein is my favorite because it comes in so many flavors. Or, you can buy the big cans of Whey Protein at Walmart (and divide them for 1 scoop servings) into plastic sandwich bags, thereby making them portable. All you need to do is stop at a convenience store, buy a small bottle of milk or soy milk, add the packet, then shake. Not only do you get your daily dose of vitamins, but you also get 15 grams of protein, with very little sugar. This will keep you full for about 2 hours and is a great way to start the day.
