There is an Indian tradition the night before a wedding:
The night before a woman is to be married, the women in her family cover her entire body (From face to feet) in a gross looking yellow paste.
This mask is said to remove impurites from her skin and leave her with a 'bridal glow' so that she looks radiant on her big day and big night ;-)
This mask has been around for years and luckily for us, its not only meant for a bride to be.
1tsp milk or natural plain unsweetened yoghurt
1-2tsp organic honey
2tsp lemon juice
1tsp cinammon powder
Mix the mixture in a bowl until it forms a thick paste (you can add tumeric or milk to create the perfect consistency)
Using a fan brush or foundation brush (or your hands) apply the mask to your face and neck (you can apply it to your entire body if you wish)
Wait 30 mins and wash it off with warm water and a facial sponge/puff.
The mask will not stain your skin yellow. If you notice a yellow tinge to your skin it means that you did not remove the mask correctly. You can wash your skin with a gentle cleanser or baby oil after to remove the last traces of the mask.
No not use a cleanser with exfoliating beads, it will irritate your newly glowing skin.
This mask is ideal for oily, acne prone skin as well.
The honey and tumeric have anti-bacterial properties.
Tumeric has a very strong curry smell. So I suggest doing the mask the night before. If your date loves the smell of an indian take out joint by all means go ahead and do it the night of the date:-)
