How to prevent tangles in jewellry

Over the Easter break I went round to my boyfriends’ sister’s house to find her pulling her hair out with tangled jewelry! As she was using a pin to slowly de-knot small chains of necklaces she exclaimed “Megan, this should be a topic for your blog!” so Louise…this one’s for you!

At the minute I have nails with long necklaces hanging up on them, I understand this is not ideal for everyone, but if you buy clips that attach to your wall and leave no marks, you could attach them to the inside of your wardrobe to hang long costume jewelry! If you only put up to four necklaces on each and buy a few then this should definitely stop major tangles happening when your rushing to get ready for a night on the town!

I also have a wee woman jewelry stand. These are fab for keeping jewelry on as not only do they look so pretty but they stop tangles!

The bad thing is they aren’t the sturdiest of things and if they fall, you often have a bigger tangling problem than before so be sure to only keep smaller necklaces, bracelets etc. on them. They are ideal for all your jewelry with smaller, thin chains on them. These are also great as gift ideas!

Bangles often take up lots of room and somehow necklaces are attracted to tangling themselves around them in an annoying mess! The best way to keep your bracelets from having an unpleasant relationship with your necklaces, buy a kitchen roll holder! I know, I know it sounds strange but they are a great way of keeping all your bracelets in one place, letting you see clearly each piece you may want to wear and stop them tangling!

If you want all of your jewelry together, buy a plain cork notice board (available from most local cheapy stores for a couple of quid), cover it in nice wallpaper or wrapping paper of your choice to go with your room décor. This is the perfect canvas for hanging your jewelry display on! Buy some pretty pins, you can get these from the likes of a Hobbycraft and design away! This is good for bracelets and necklaces.

For expensive jewelry it is good to keep it apart from your costume. Buy a nice trinket box and keep it in here, and the rest you can do the above!
