Many people get scared when they think about a surgery. However, the part that makes them most anxious is the recovery time. It is important to treat your body in the right way and to follow the instructions given by your surgeon during recovery time because it helps in preventing risks and complications. When you are recovering from a tummy tuck in Scottsdale AZ, the following are some tummy tuck recovery tips to follow:

Do not smoke:  It is advised to stop smoking one month before the surgery and after the surgery. If you are a heavy smoker who cannot stop smoking, you will increase the chances of a complication after surgery. Smoking leads to low blood flow which in turn hinders your recovery.

Be careful of the diet you take:  you should eat healthy after the surgery in order to ensure that your body is healthy and it recovers faster. Some of the most beneficial foods during recovery are vegetables, fruits, chicken and salmon.  

Keep well hydrated:  the body should be kept well hydrated, so it is important to take enough fluids - especially water. When you drink enough water before the surgery and after the surgery, it will reduce various risks and complications.

Sleeping position:  it is advised that you sleep inclined with pillows in order to support the body after a tummy tuck. This ensures that you do not put unnecessary pressure on the incision site which may cause the sutures to be disrupted.
