Dear Girls, Ent. One.

I've seen multiple questions about diets and such.

Ladies. Stop focusing on the diet and focus more one the working out and eating healthy.

Diets in my opinion are more for the over weight.

You ladies are not. over. weight.

You say your this tall and weigh this much.

How much you weigh doesn't matter.

Try how much muscle mass you have.

How much fat is really on your body if you think of it.

Muscle weighs more than fat so screw the scale.

Look in the mirror.

Flex your muscles.

How much fat is REALLY there?

I'm seriously begging. Don't think about dieting. at all. Don't worry about it.

Work out.

Do yoga.

Eat healthy foods.

Don't diet.

How much you weigh and your height is taken into consideration for BMI. Being Overweight, clinically obese and underweight are not all the same thing. I don't thing girls here know that, and well it's easier to convince with facts. For the BMI index, the normal weight range is pretty long, and obesity stage I , isn't as severe as obesity stage III. In terms of "screw the scale", idk, I know it's not accurate but it's the most helpful thing people have (both scales told both girls they were at a healthy range which I agree with) . However, the only way to truly calculate body fat and bmi is with a caliper or the underwater test administered by a medical professional. People can't tell how much muscle mass they have. If you know how it's better to instruct and state facts so that people can stop freaking out. Essentially, just how much muscle do you think 14 year olds have? Let's be realistic. It's summer so people are wearing more revealing clothes and showing their body. Online pictures of thinspiration and the like probably aren't helping , but to someone who's body isn't as well defined or feel like they don't fit properly into clothing that would make a skinny girl look better as it plays out in their heads, they start feeling "fat" which a majority of the time is wrong. Also , most girls fail to take into account that being underweight is just as bad. Yoga is more for stretching and energy flow. I think pilates or some high paced exercise works better, but yes, eating healthy foods is crucial.

I agree HEALTY not SKINNY!!! But if you are severly overweight, you may want to start diet to become a healthy weight and then keep up a healthy lifestyle to avoid becoming medically overweight again.

I think the word diet has a negative connotation and I understand your point, yet, when people do say "I'm going on a diet" I personally find that for the most part they are going on a lifestyle change including proper nutrition (or at least cutting calories a bit) and exercise, the real problem in my opinion is when someone attempting to go on a diet starts making silly assumptions that not eating will make them models or something. Additionally, yes, our weight on the scale is not just indicative of fat content however, most girls generally know when they look in the mirror what is fat and what is muscle. If a girl is exercises regularly then yeah she will know she has a strong core, or muscular arms, or strong legs however, if she knows she does not really engage in physical activity she probably knows how much fat is there in comparison to muscle content. I do agree with your message but some people do need to lose weight and really, as long as you have a healthy, positive attitude it doesn't matter if you are trying to change the number on the scale. :)
