Tips to Create and Use Twitter Lists for Organising Your Twitter Account

Twitter had introduced List as one of their features, and this is the
best one to date when it comes to organizing your Twitter account. The Tweets
you found in your timeline can be messy and unorganized. To some people, this
could be a hindrance, so creating an orderly Twitter account is probably much
more preferable. Unfortunately, even though the feature has been around for
quite so long, it is still severely underutilized. Lists help you to arrange
your Twitter
feed so that it will look more organized and orderly. For example, you just
wish to see Tweets that come from a specific expertise or interest, or that you
wish to make categorization out of it. For whatever purpose you have in mind, organizing twitter account using lists can be really convenient.

Creating Your Twitter List

First of all, you will need to sign into your account, and then proceed
to click the gear icon located in the upper right corner of your profile. There
you can choose Lists and on the opened page afterwards, you will find “Create
new list” button located on the right. You will be redirected to a pop-up box
asking you to give name to the list, give it a short description, and set it to
either private or public. The next page you will be redirected will show you a
blank version of the list without tweets or followers; empty and free to fill
in as you wish later on. You could utilize the search box where you can add
people to your lists, or add some contents that you wish to put it in there.
You can remove and add users from your lists as you use your account, creating
changes from time to time. Explore twitter with a more organized approach
afterwards!

Following Someone’s List

There are many cool stuff you can do by making list, such as following
someone else lists, for example. You don’t have to build your lists by yourself;
you can simply follow other people’s lists that you find interesting. Twitter
will bookmark whatever lists you have followed so you can revisit it later
afterwards. Following someone else list can be a great way to learn about
what the other person is interested about, without necessarily have to follow
them. You can also use these lists created by other people to instantly access
interesting contents without so much effort. Lists also help you to see the
contents coming from other people that you care about. For example, lists that
are made by your real-life friends.

What’s The Difference between Twitter Lists and Your Twitter Feed?

Of course there are difference! Lists are cool because it sorts out
Tweets and providing only the ones you are interested to see. Basically, making categorization out of a selected group of Twitter users. Just think of lists
like another way of following people. Instead, it sorts out its contents and
from there, you will only be delivered with things you actually care to see.
Unlike Twitter feed that basically a mash-up of everything you have followed,
Lists help you to categorize them. You can also use lists for users who are
friends you know in real life, so you don’t have to bother with users you don’t
know if you just wish to talk to your real-life friends. Also, the great thing
about lists is that you don’t have to follow a user in order to add them to a
list. Tweets that have been categorized don’t show up in the main feed either,
making it look more orderly and such! There are many other reasons why lists
are great, and these are only some of them!
