Four Great Tips to Keep Your Hair Safe from Heat Damage

Applying heat can make your hair looks more beautiful and
smooth with great volume. It is almost impossible nowadays to go out of the
house without exposing your hair to heat, whether from a blow dryer to dry your
hair in no time or flat iron to straighten your hair. If you need tips on how
to style your hair with heat, you can always find some great tricks from

However, there is one thing you must remember. Even though
it is great and all, styling your hair with heat can cause so much damage to
your hair. The heat can take away the natural moisture of your hair and as a
result, your hair will look very dry and you can even notice the cracks at the
ends. But don’t let fear of damage stop you from styling your hair. If you
follow these tips, you can apply heat to your hair without having to worry
about the damage it may cause.

Always Completely Dry
Your Hair First

Before you take your hot rollers or flat
iron and use them on your hair, make sure you have thoroughly dried your hair.
Applying heat to a wet hair is a recipe for disaster because it will completely
take away the natural moisture of your hair and if you keep doing it, your hair
will be damaged. It is best to dry your hair naturally instead of using hair
dryer. If you use hair dryer, it means you will apply heat twice on your hair,
hence even more damage. If you plan to style your hair with heat, it is best to
wash your hair the night before to give time for your hair to naturally dry.

Only Use Professional

Choosing high quality tool will help preventing heat damage.
For example, when you want to purchase a flat iron straightener, make sure you
choose a product made of ceramic or tourmaline. Ceramic and tourmaline is a
good heat conductor but at the same time it will protect your hair from
directly contacting with the heat. Ceramic and tourmaline also have negative
ions that will make your hair looks smooth and shiny and this is what make
quality product more superior. If you choose something cheap and low quality,
it will just burn your hair without giving the result you want.

Apply Heat Protectant

Many people don’t really care about applying heat protectant
but it is actually the one that will save your hair from damage. Heat
protectant will not only protect your hair from heat but also will make it
looks shiny, smooth and smells really good. If you have oily hair, it is best
to choose spray protectant. But if your hair is dry, try using cream-based heat
protectant to give more shine and moisture to your hair.

Give Your Hair Time
to Breathe

Last but not least, make sure you give enough time for your
hair to rest. Make sure there is at least one or two days in a week where you
don’t have to style your hair with heat. Don’t forget to go to the saloon and
pamper your hair to fix your hair and prevent more damage.
