5 Tips to Help You Stick to Your Fitness Program

5
Tips to Help You Stick to Your Fitness Program

It's
easy to say that " I am going to workout today," but doing it is
another thing. Sometimes we lack motivation when it comes to sticking to a
fitness program. When you have the best intentions to work out sometimes,
excuses are easy to find such as " I am busy" or " It's raining
outside." If you want to see results
from your fitness program
, you are going to have to come up with a plan and
stick to it. Having the right attitude and a few techniques can help keep your
fitness routine on the right track.

Here
are five tips to help you stay on the right path:

1. Create A
Schedule

Sticking
to a schedule can help you stick to your fitness program. There are great
things called planners that can help you come up with a fitness routine. Even
if you have a personal trainer, writing down the times when you are supposed to
go to the gym or keeping a reminder in your phone will hold you accountable.
When you lack motivation on certain days, remind yourself that you have to
stick to a schedule.

2. Take
Small Steps

You
would never try to run 5 miles in one day when you first start out right? When
you exercise too much, it can decrease your motivation and can cause injuries.
Taking baby steps will allow your body to adjust to your fitness program. Maybe
running a quarter of a mile, in the beginning, can help you work your way up to
your fitness goals. When that becomes too easy,  you can try something like the 30
day ab challenge

3.
Incentives

Sometimes
rewarding ourselves is the best motivation to stick to a workout plan. It is
always easier to get through a task you don't want to do when you have
something to look forward to when you are done. On the weekends plan something
fun. Tell yourself that you will stop to get a manicure on the way home from
the gym or plan a night out with your friends. Doing this will make you more
excited to get your workout done becauseyou have something to look forward too.

4. Good
Music

Listening
to some music while working out can amp up your motivation to stick to your
fitness program. Download music apps like Spotify to create a playlist. There
is nothing worse than going to the gym and staying on the treadmill for an hour
working out in silence. So it is best to create a high-energy playlist that
will keep your blood pumping. Remember to change up your playlist every week,
so you can stay motivated to stick to your fitness program.

5. Think
About Your Health and Exercise

When
you are not active, you can have health problems. One of the ways to stick to
your fitness program is to think about your health while exercising. If your
goal is to lower your A1C if you have diabetes, Set a goal to decrease your
blood sugar by three points. When you don't feel like exercising, remind
yourself that you are trying to lower your blood sugar. Having a different
perspective as to why you are exercising besides getting fit can help you stick
to your fitness program.

Sticking
to your fitness program is very imperative for a healthy body. When you have
those days that you don't feel motivated to stick to your fitness program, these
tips will help you. Remember that your health comes first and although you may
feel unmotivated taking care of your body is more important. So never give up
on your goals.
