Fashion Tips for Summer

The heat is on and that offers both opportunities and concerns
about fashion. Warmer months signify a slight relaxation in the need for formal
attire and the need and desire to keep things flowy, cool and simple for the
ultimate in comfort and style. The sundress is an obvious summer staple, but
there are many other looks, outfits, and tips that will get you outfitted for
the sunny season that draws us outside.

Show Some Skin

Just because you are exposing some skin to the summer breeze
does not mean you need to look inappropriate in social settings. While it is
perfectly acceptable to dress your body any way you wish, an easy rule to look
polished and posh while letting it all hang out is to pick either tight
clothing or revealing clothing and not both. The options below all adhere to
this general rule and even have some mix and match options.

A nice flowy camisole top is a great touch to almost any
summer outfit. Worn on its own or under a short sleeved cardigan or duster, it
keeps you cool and collected looking. Loft has a great option in their Striped
Strappy Cami. It is slightly reminiscent of a nautical look with muted colors
in a summer pallet.

Shells are comfortable, breezy and easy to wear. They also
layer well, like a cami top, but provide a little more coverage in the arm area
for those who are more modest or even women who just want a little something
different. This particular shell, also from Loft,  is like a big shirt that met a tank top and
made beautiful music together. The pattern is impossibly fun- active without
being busy, and the color scheme is great for summer without succumbing to any
neon tones or stark whites.

For bottoms, choose a pair of short shorts, walking shorts,
capri pants or a skirt. Loft’s Tie Waist Wrap Skirt is not only perfect for
summer, it comes in colors that match both of the tops mentioned above. The coral
color is especially lovely for the season, and the skirt’s easy tailoring
creates a fun look while also being comfortable to wear. Feel the breeze in all
the right places and look great doing it with this choice.

Shorts are a must for summer, and the options in this area of
design just keep getting wider. The Fiesta Riviera Shorts have a 4” inseam for
lots of leg on display but share the same easy design principles as the other
choices in this section. The pattern gives just enough pop in a southwestern
color pallet.

 Those Dresses

There is more than one way to shop for sundresses! Some are
long maxis and some are body con minis. Some fit and flare with a flirty hem
and some cascade in feminine waves down the body showing glimpses of leg.
Whatever the style, summer dresses should be comfortable and show off a little
bit of your beautiful summer tan. The Fit and Flare dress from Lands End is an
amazing choice for summer. It is flowy, flirty and easy to wear with fabric
that will move along with you. The open neckline is modest but great for summer
and should allow for many activities without creating a wardrobe malfunction.

Polo dresses are another wonderful option for summer style.
They can provide whatever coverage you are comfortable with in the sleeve and
hemline while still being loose enough to allow relief from the summer heat.
They can also transition very well from a backyard party to a casual dinner
with friends. Lands End delivers again with this brick red polo dress which is a great example of the
garment.

 Cover Up Chic

Bathing suit cover ups have seen a shift in style as well and
have become very wearable and rather chic. If you are at a pool party or
lounging on a boat, mixing a great suit with some jewelry and a fancy cover up
can make up a fantastic look. This Lace Swim Coverup from Torrid is amazing. It
could easily pass for a dress, but it shows plenty of peeks of the bathing suit
underneath. Because it is a solid color, it pairs well with more colorful suits
that may be difficult to match to a busier coverup.

A different take on the coverup is Michael Kors Logo Ringed Coverup which is
essentially a dress itself. It provides lots of coverage and has a relaxed easy
style that is still interesting and more than just something you toss on when
you exit the water.

Summer fashion inspiration is everywhere and this list merely
scratches the surface. Remember to look for coupons before checking out at any
of the stores featured in this article, or anywhere you shop. This can save
money that you can put toward having a great time in your great new outfit. To
keep things even easier, all of the looks here are from stores that cooperate
with Frugaa.com,
a discount coupon site that is easy to use and delivers amazing discounts. Copy
and paste the code you like best that applies to the store you are shopping at
and apply it to your order during checkout.
