Thoughts on Life and Probably Things You Won't Understand

I already have a journal, so this is probably going to be like a mini-blog thing, I assume.

And do people even really read these anyway? Probably not. I bet everyone is so concerned about themselves and their own lives that they just automatically begin to think that THEY are somehow important. And maybe that's why people grow up and get wiser - they learn that they aren't really significant to someone in, say, Nigeria...

There are probably billions of people I (you, she, he) will never meet... better make the ones we do meet worth our time.

And who can honestly say that everyone they meet has been worth their time? There are tons of people I'd just like to walk away from.

I guess it's those lasting impressions you get on those people that really make their life (and your life) worthwhile.

Like... if I were born in Canada, or New Zealand, or Haiti, or the Congo, or anywhere else, I'd probably have just as many friends as I do here. So maybe our position on earth determines who we really bond with. If I lived in YOUR town, would you be my best friend? Would we share secrets and laugh and go to the mall just because we could?

My goal is to educate people. Not have them learn something, but to FEEL something. Something that I feel all the time... that philosophical side of themselves. Not everyone is as shallow as a puddle. I think people just tend to block out those thoughts of complete being-ness, preferring to shroud their minds with makeup and boys and homework. It's like the whole world is trying to keep those intricate thoughts away from us by muddling our minds with priorities and social cliques and everything.

Is there ever really a time when you can just THINK? I want to wake up in the morning and watch the sun rise and not care, but I think that school and work and parents and friends kind of zap the ability to not care right out of your brain. There's always going to be SOMETHING that needs done, somebody who wants to talk to you, something that can't waste another moment without your immediate attention...

... it's going from survival skills (the ability to remember things, to prioritize, to always be on the lookout for things to do) to just appreciating life.

So how do we as a race get from ignoring our survival skills to just living?

I mean, we've worked and experimented and developed the technology to make us NOT have to struggle to survive. We have heaters to keep us warm, all kinds of foods to chose from, water and other drinks within arms reach, light, energy, music, Internet - so why do we need to keep working towards something better?

When can we accept that what we have is... good enough?
