Self-Improvement Books

What do you think about self-improvement books? I've read tons of these books and some of them really helped me become calmer and understand why people behave the way they behave. I heard some people considering these trash. However, I think if you find a writer who really offers you a few useful tips on how to live your life and imrpove your relationship, it is worth having some of these books in your personal library. What do you think?

Books, I do believe do help one to be a better person but the most essential element is to listen and not hear to your inner thoughts, observe others and do not be afraid to ask close friends what they like and dislike about you, your behaviour and attitude.
