5 Things you Must Know About A Mommy Makeover

A lot of women regain their pre-pregnancy shape and their self-confidence with the help of a mommy makeover. A few of the mommies spoke to us and here are the 5 things per them you must know about the mommy makeover:

  1. It is alright to feel guilty. Being a mommy, you are so used to putting everybody else’s needs first. It is fine to splurge on a vacation, but there may be second thoughts about spending money on yourself. You must realize that this procedure helps you regain your self-image. Once your mommy makeover procedure is over, you will love what you see in the mirror each day.

  2. What you can tell your kids. It is not uncommon to pass on your negative body image to the kids. It is important to never let yourself down in front of them and refrain from calling yourself fat. You can keep it simple for the kids; let them know your doctor wants to fix your tummy with a mommy makeover surgery. For the older boys, it will be easier to say you require a ‘female’ surgery and you will be saved from any further questions.

  3. Those implants are not really huge! The first time you look at your breast implants, they may look scary. However, you need to keep in mind that this is not your final look. The swelling reduces in a few days and the implants finally fall into their place. About a week post-surgery, your surgeon will recommend that you begin massaging your breasts. You will love your results when your breasts are perkier and younger looking.

  4. Emotional trauma. A surgical procedure is undoubtedly traumatic and most women oscillate between being ecstatic and sad at the same time. All the pain medication and difficulties of the first few days could make you quite unpredictable. It is important to let your spouse and family know how you are feeling to not leave them confused. The best way to deal with it – sleep it off!

  5. Mommy makeover is not a substitute for fitness. It is not uncommon for women to opt for cosmetic surgery when diet and exercise did not help. However, this is true only for some stubborn fatty deposits and surgery can never substitute healthy living. Your active lifestyle will not only help you recover faster, but also retain your beautiful mommy makeover results.
