How to care for your skin

Okay, you may already know a million and one things about skin care and could list them all from the top of your head right now. That's cool, but if you just wanna learn the basics, then read on.

*Aim to cleanse your face at least once a day. Twice a day is better, but any more than that is over-cleansing and could cause your skin to produce more oil than it needs to.

*You also need to moisturise often if your skin gets dry. You may not need a moisturiser. If you live in humid, tropical areas and eat a lot of healthy oily foods such as nuts and fish, you probably won't need one.

*When buying skin care products remember this: expensive is not always best. Different skin care products suit different people. It would be such a waste of money to buy the most expensive moisuriser in the store only to find out it irritates your skin. Also, look for products that say 'oil free' as they won't clog your pores (tiny holes in your skin), causing you to break out in acne.

*Never, EVER go to bed with makeup on. Always wash it off before hand. It can cause acne and clogged pores.

*Always wear sunscreen. The sun just isn't good for your skin. You don't need a tan to look good, a tan is in fact your skin crying out for help! If you're so desperate for brown skin, try carefully applying a fake tan (though too much can make you look like a human carrot).

*And last, but not least, drink lots of water! You need to keep your skin hydrated, so try to drink at least six glasses of water a day.
