Being a Teenager

Make sure you read from the beginning of my story with, The Start....!!

One word. YUK! Anyone who’s anyone who’s been a teenager will probably agree with me. I started secondary school innocent and happy as most young people. Then BOOM, nearly a year in and I found myself paying more attention to topics like ‘fashion’ and ‘make up’ instead of My Little Pony.

All of a sudden, just being me wasn’t good enough anymore. Hang on, my hair isn’t good? Sorry, I need…what eyeliner? Oh and the worst, excuse me, I’m FAT?! I suddenly found myself feeling very vulnerable.

The thing is, my parents didn’t have much money when we were younger. They provided me and my sister with a lovely home, food to eat and clothes to wear, but not the kind of clothes that make you popular, or cool, or make lots of friends. I soon found myself at the bottom of the popular list, and soon after found myself being very disappointed with what I saw in the mirror every day.

The thing is, when you don’t have money to buy lovely things like make up and nice clothes, how are you supposed to know what to do with them? So if I did have a bit of money, I found myself making silly mistakes, wearing tops that were too tight and bottoms that made me look too short. I simply had no idea.

Then, one day, a girl called Faye approached me at school. Faye was a really lovely girl, and she was from the popular crowd! What does she want to talk to me for?! Me and Faye soon became good mates, and she would split her time from the popular girls and some of the less popular ones (me).

One night, she asked me round to her house (SO excited lol) and her cousin Lisa was there. Low and behold, the girls gave me a complete and utter make over, and explained to me that if I wanted to get anywhere in life (or school) I would have to sort my looks out! They were right.

The next day, and forever after, my looks became an integral part of my life, the better I looked, the more confidence I had, the more confidence I had, the more friends I made, and life became so much better. This was the start, to my complete obsession with make up, fashion, and beauty.

I was popular.

Next chapter coming soon!!!!!!!!
