Have you heard stories from your parents, or grandparents about writing letters to their friends? About meeting someone in another country and staying friends via mail?
It always fascinated me. I love to write and get my opinions out there (hence the blogging websites) and so being able to write to a friend, and waiting for the reply excites me. Its loads of fun, and more so when they live in another state or country.
My best friend moved to Queensland earlier this year, and instead of only emailing, texting and phone calls, we decided to be pen pals. I’ve found that we are keeping better friends this way because we are inclined to say more. In a text you’re not likely to give all the details about a school camp, but over letter you are. And so we are sharing details of our lives and still staying close.
Not only that, but your mind is looking back at your own day/week/month as you write to your friend, that it also helps you to reflect and learn from mistakes, or even good things that have happened.
Writing to a friend is really healthy, and i highly recommend it! :)
