How Provigil helps you get over extreme day time sleepiness!

Getting sleepy at work is indeed very frustrating. It
doesn’t allow us to show our best self. We cannot concentrate well in the
meetings because our mind is in constant need of sleep. We might as well miss
out great opportunities. If you are a university student, you know how
competitive everything has become. Falling asleep in the middle of important
lectures can take a serious toll on your grades. Smart drugs, as you might have
heard, helps people who are victims of extreme sleepiness to get over it. However,
you must note that these pills are not a replacement for sleep. They just help
decrease the ill effects of the sleeping disorders. One of such smart drugs is
Provigil that works as a cognitive enhancer and improves the
cognitive functions in an individual.

Provigil is a brand name for
generic Modafinil that helps promote
wakefulness in individuals. Provigil is an approved drug to treat sleeping disorders
such as Narcolepsy, Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and Shift Work Sleep Disorder.
Provigil has been known to make a person active and well functioning all
throughout the day. It increases the retaining power, alertness, creativity and
enhances the reasoning skills of individuals. It brings about an enhanced mood
and makes a person feel more outgoing and extrovert.

The following are general guidelines for you to follow. A
doctor would best know the doses you require according to your medical
condition and your response to the treatment. Therefore, consult a doctor first
and follow all of his/her instructions.

•    For patients with
Narcolepsy and Obstructive Sleep Apnea: take 200 mg orally every day in the

•    For those with Shift
Work Sleep Disorder: take 200 mg orally approximately one hour before the start
of the work shift.

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But, if
it is already your bedtime, skip it and resume to your normal dosing schedule.
Never consume an extra pill to make up for the missed dose.

Overdosing on Provigil can be very harmful to your health.
The various symptoms you may notice if you overdose are nausea, diarrhea,
insomnia, agitation, excitement, restlessness, anxiety etc. Rush to a doctor
immediately as and when you experience these.

•    Modafinil may be
addictive. Make sure it is not misused. Otherwise, it can lead to addiction,
abuse or death. Do not give it away to any person especially if he/she is a
drug addict. Also, keep track of the pills in your bottle. Keep it away from
children or animals.

•    Modafinil has the
tendency to impair or weaken your thinking ability and your reactions.
Therefore, avoid any activity that requires you to be highly alert while you
are on this pill. For example, driving, operating any kind of machinery etc.

•    Do not take
Provigil if you are not suffering from any sleeping disorders.

•    Children under
the age of 17 years should not receive Provigil.

•    Pregnant women,
women planning to get pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should not take
Provigil unless the doctor so prescribes.

•    Do not take
Provigil with alcohol or any other medications. This can prove to be very
dangerous to your health.

•    Make a list of
all the drugs that you are currently on like prescribed drugs, non-prescribed
drugs, vitamins and other herbal products. Show it to the doctor before you
