Drugs online, how safe is your kid?

Modern teens have grown up with computers and
devices. For them printed materials are foreign, most of the info they get is
from online. Teens also do their shopping online, communicate online, and
virtually live online. No wonder that it is not a problem to find drugs online.
A few keywords and clicks could bring teens to purchasing the drug. Buying
drugs online is that easy nowadays.

 According to the Center for Addiction and
Substance Abuse, 40% of high school seniors, 30% of 10th graders and 13%
of 8th-grade kids have used drugs. 76 % of these teenagers, buy these
prescription pills illegally through smugglers, forged prescriptions, and
online pharmacies.

 Different factors could cause teen drug
abuse, from curiosity to desire for social acceptance and insecurity. Teens are
perfect victims for drug distributors because they often do not consider the
consequences of their actions. And consequences can be very serious or even
lethal.

The most problematic issue is that teens lie
about using drugs and alcohol and in some cases, it might be too late for
parents to interfere.

The earlier the problem is addressed the
better chances to prevent potential damage. Below are tips for parents:

Trust your concerns

Many parents overestimate their concerns
about their kid’s behavior. But every parent knows his/her child, so if your
gut tells you that something going wrong, it has to be a reason. Start a
conversation with the kid. Start by asking questions and don’t be too pushy.
Talk about your concerns and be ready to listen carefully.

  Be aware

At the early stages, drug abuse is really hard
to determine. There are certain signals, but parents do not know what to look
for. Parents should make a research about drugs, their effects, and substances
available to kids nowadays.

Double check to be sure

Kids would probably lie about drugs if you ask
them. That is why parents should be aware of their kid online life. The best
consideration for parents is to use monitoring software for each electronic
device that their kid’s use.

There are plenty of monitoring apps for
parents nowadays, but the biggest package of parental control features is
presented in the mSpy application

Some of the main features you get from mSpy
are:

-
Real-time SMS tracking, it also allows parents to see the name of the
sender/recipient as well as the exact date and time;

-
Call logs monitoring;

-
 Real-time GPS phone tracking;

-
 Geo-Fencing;

-
Installed apps and contact list monitoring;

-
Viber, WhatsApp, Snapchat tracking;

-
Tinder tracking, etc.

 All the aforementioned features allow parents
to get acquainted with their ‘kiddo’ life and to step in at the right time in
the right place.
