It’s hard to be romantic when sticking to your routine, so
here are 6 ideas worth doing this Valentine’s Day to ignite that spark with
Under the Stars
Literally doing anything under the stars is romantic,
whether you choose to take your partner for a midnight stroll on the beach (it
totally doesn’t matter that it’s a cliché), fine dining or a picnic at the park
with your favourite nibbles and champagne or catch a night time movie with your
valentine, whether you park it in your car or sit under the stars on a picnic
rug or cuddled up on a bean bag.
Take Time Off
Schedule in a day off work with your partner. It doesn’t
even have to be Valentine’s Day. Better yet if it’s the Friday and you can take
a long weekend away together. Skipping work to spend time with your partner
shows them how important they are. Not only are you skipping money, you’re also
skipping that nagging obligation to show up everyday and instead showing your
partner what’s truly important to you.
Get Pampered Together
If you took my advice and are going to take a long weekend
away together, how about heading to the spa? If not, schedule in a few hours at

you’re idea of relaxation is staying at home and draw your partner a bath.
Include some of their favourite bath products, or better yet make
them yourself. Add some rose petals and maybe even yourself.
Watch the Sun Rise
If you’re not much of a night owl and neither is your
partner, you may both prefer to get up early if you’re morning birds and watch
the sun rise together instead. Create a pancake or fancy waffle breakfast for
your partner and sit outside, whether at the beach, the park or if you’re super
lucky, on your own porch and watch it together while sharing a delicious
Make it Mysterious
If you really want that spark to ignite then make sure your
valentine’s not expecting anything, make your
date mysterious. Lay out a good suit or dress for them to wear and leave
them note on top saying where and when to meet their secret admirer. Dress the
part yourself and meet them at a fancy cocktail bar, they won’t know what hit
